The Old Times

After picking her up from the kindergarden, she tells me that we can have dinner with other mothers and kids like the old times at the english class.
Hazel: "Mom, we can have dinner with those mothers. You can talk with them."
Mom: "How about the fathers? I think they need to have dinner with their fathers."
Hazel:" Don't we have the class at night that i can meet xxx?"

Days ago , on the bed ready to sleep
Hazel:" Mom, what is eden doing? I have not seeing him a while."
" PJ and Eden are my good friends before."

Too Happy to Cry

3/11 night, Hazel find something on the door.
Hazel: "Mom, what is this?"
Mom: "^%(&^*()&"
Hazel: "Real! "
"I am so happy that i almost feel like crying~"

I never expect to hear such dramatic play from her. It is cute.

1st school day

Date: 03/08-03/12

What we have covered:
Reader: Cat and Mouse
MPM: Combination and Separation of Properties
Rhyme: She Sells Seashells
Phonics: No Fun for Gus & The Pet Bath
Song: Walking Walking

Dear Parents,

Bunny class had yet another great week at school! We have extended the time that we will spend on each phonics reader. Instead of one week, we will now be spending a week and a half on each book. This is to make sure that the students can read all the words in a fluent manner and with good pronunciation. On Wednesday, we made some yummy mouse tongue cookies which the students really enjoyed.

Hazel has been doing well in her second week of class. I heard that she had a few minor problems in class and I would like to encourage her to talk to me or Teacher Nevia if she needs help or doesn’t understand something. I heard that she would like to be the “bus driver”. On Monday she asked to be the “water helper” for the week but next Monday I’m sure we can arrange for her to be the “bus driver” for the week if she likes. ☺

Date: 03/15-03/19

What we have covered:
Reader: Cat and Mouse
MPM: D2 Review
Rhyme: My Shoes
Phonics: The Pet Bath
Song: Jimmy Crack Corn

Dear Parents,

I believe that the spring fieldtrip was a success! The students and the parents all had a nice day outdoors learning about nature and playing games together. Bunny class has also been having a good week in class. The students are doing a great job with memorizing the reader “Cat and Mouse” for their Mother’s Day speech. I would like to encourage them to practice reciting it at home with the actions as well.

Hazel has been doing well in school this week. Her reading is improving at a very good rate. She is a fast learner. I’m sure that she will be speaking as fluently as the rest of her classmates in no time at all! I just hope that she can be patient and not be too hard on herself in the mean time. If she doesn’t know how to say something she can ask me or teacher Nevia in Chinese and we will help to teach her the English.

Date: 03/22-03/26

What we have covered:
Reader: Out in the Weather
MPM: D3 More Than or Less Than
Rhyme: Five in the Hive
Phonics: Two Dogs
Song: Baby Bird

Dear Parents,

We had another good week in class. The students had fun making muffins and eating them for snack on Wednesday. They have been doing very well with understanding the concept of “more than or less than” in MPM. Also they have been doing a great job with their Mother’s Day speeches. Every student in the class has been improving with regards to reading and I’m very happy about this!

Hazel seems to be enjoying herself at school this week. She is more talkative and smiles a lot. Her behavior is excellent and I think that some of the other students in the class could learn from her! She is catching up to her classmates very quickly with reading and writing. She is also much less shy about asking the teachers for help. I hope to see her keep up the effort!

Date: 03/29-04/02

What we have covered:
Reader: Out in the Weather
MPM: D3 Measurements
Rhyme: August Heat
Phonics: Two Dogs & Yip! Yap!
Song: Ring around the Rosy

Dear Parents,

We had another fun week at school. The students had a nice fieldtrip at the Taipei Astronomical Museum on Wednesday. They learned about the sun, the moon and the stars, and also about the weather in different places. The students will be doing the first round of the competition for the Mother’s Day speech on April 9. I would like to encourage them to practice the words and actions a lot at home until then.

Hazel continues to do well in class. She is well-behaved and pays attention in class. She gets along well with all of her classmates and is well liked. She is doing well with rehearsals for the Mother’s Day speech but she needs to remember to speak up a little so that everyone can hear her!

Cheers 2/27

Cheers for hazel going to the kindergarden next Monday.
